Patti Blanton - Biography
Patti Blanton was one of the most accomplished golfers to ever play in Oklahoma. She won 14 major tournaments in three states and one foreign country.
Patti began playing golf at the age of 26, while living in Tulsa. In 1931, Patti won the Women’s Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship as Patti Beyer. She successfully defended her title the next year. Patti also won the 1932 Women’s Trans Miss as Mrs. Walter Beyer.
In 1933, Patti moved to Wichita, Kansas and became known as Patti Newbold. Patti won the Kansas Amateur Championship four times. In 1936, she also won the Mexican Amateur Championship with the last name of Newbold.
In 1940, Patti married Ernie Blanton. They kept homes in Enid, Oklahoma and Colorado Springs, Colorado. Patti won the WOGA State Amateur Championship twice more, in 1947 and 1948, under the Blanton name.
Patti won the Colorado Amateur Championship in 1953 and 1955. She also won the prestigious Broadmoor Invitational twice, in 1949 and 1956. Patti played in eight USGA Women’s Amateur Championships.
Patti wore a hearing aid most of her life. She used it to her advantage on the golf course, by turning it off during competition. Patti died in 2002, at the age of 99. Patti’s children, Pam King, of Colorado Springs, and Pat Blanton, of Enid, accepted Patti’s award.

33-2a/12 Internal Boundary Between Holes
It is proposed to install boundary stakes between two holes as a safety measure. It would prevent players playing a "dog-leg" hole from driving onto the fairway of another hole in order to cut the "dog-leg." Is it permissible to establish such a boundary?
